 We first began commercial-scale field trials of SuperSmolt® conducted by independent third parties in the fall of 2001. As of the summer of 2003, trials and commercial applications of the SuperSmolt® process have been conducted on well over 10 million Atlantic, Coho, and Chinook salmon in Norway, Chile, Canada, Scotland, Ireland and the United States by over 25 producers. By the end of 2003, it is estimated that an additional 7 million salmon and trout will receive the SuperSmolt® process in the hatcheries of these producers as well as in the hatcheries of 15 additional producers that will be using SuperSmolt® for the first time. During the summer of 2003, harvests of SuperSmolt® treated fish from two major commercial field trials took place in Chile and on the west coast of North America.
