Øyvind Fylling-Jensen, DVM, PhD. Dr. Fylling-Jensen is currently the CEO of the Norwegian Food Research Institute – Matforsk AS. He holds a degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Giessen in Germany and a PhD in veterinary pathology from the Norwegian Veterinary College. He has management training from the Norwegian School of Economics-NHH, Norwegian School of Management-BI, IMD (Institute for Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland) and HBS (Harvard Business School, Cambridge, MA). Dr. Fylling-Jensen is an experienced business person with a broad industrial background in biotechnology, diagnostics, pharmacology and aquaculture. He has had leading positions in companies such as Dynal, AS MedLab and Alpharma-Fine Chemicals Division. Prior to joining Matforsk he was executive vice president of Fjord eafood ASA, responsible for their fish farming activites. Dr. Fylling-Jensen serves as a member of the board of several companies.
Bruce I. Andrews Bruce Andrews is currently Chief Operating Officer of BioValve Technologies, Inc. a specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company. Prior to BioValve from 2002 to 2004, Bruce was President of the Animal Agriculture Alliance, a lobby group for U.S. ocusing on animal welfare interests. In 2002, Bruce also started 101 Investment Corp., a consulting firm working with several clients in animal health, animal feed, crop protection chemicals and pharmaceutical industries. From 1997 to 2001, Bruce Andrews served as President of Alpharma's Animal Health Division, during which time he led the company through a period of considerable growth, including several acquisitions. From 1995 to 1997, Bruce was a senior consultant for Brakke Consulting, Inc. specializing in the animal health, animal nutrition, crop protection chemical and specialty chemical industries. Prior to joining Brakke, Bruce Andrews was President of the North American Animal Health and Nutrition Division of American Cyanamid where he had a twenty-year areer serving in a number of positions with increasing responsibilities. As an industry leader Bruce served as Chairman of the Board and President of the International Federation for Animal Health from 1999 to 2001 and was member of the Board and the Executive Committee of the Animal Health Institute, serving as Vice Chairman from May 1993 to December 1994 and again from May 2000 to December 2001. Bruce also serves on several corporate boards.
Edward L. McMillan Edward L. McMillan is an independent business consultant based in Greenville, Illinois with a primary focus on business alliance creation; merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions; and change management with a focus on food and agribusiness. McMillan was President and Chief Executive Officer of Purina Mills Inc., the United States’ largest manufacturer and distributor of animal nutrition products, from 1988 until 1996. He joined Purina Mills in 1969 as a field sales representative and held various positions in Marketing, Business Development and Diversified Business Management before being named President and CEO in 1988 and elected to the Board of Directors in 1993. A leading figure in the animal nutrition industry, McMillan served on the board of directors of the American Feed Industry Association and as Chairman of the Board in 1993-94. He servers on the board of directors of several food and agri-business related companies including Balchem Corporation (AMEX: BCP); NutraCea, Inc. (NTRZ.OB); Durvet, Inc.; Hintzsche Inc.; Newco Enterprises, Inc.; Certified Hereford Beef, LLC; and Glencoe Capital, Consumer Products Investment Group. Mr. McMillan also serves as Chair of the University of Illinois Research Park LLC Board of Managers.
