Dr. Brown is Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. After completion of postdoctoral research training at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA, Dr. Brown has remained at Harvard Medical School where he is currently Chief of the Calcium and Bone Section, Endocrine-Hypertension Division and Co-Director of Membrane Biology Program of the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Brown is a world leader in calcium receptor biology research, primarily on the mechanisms through which diverse cell types recognize and respond to changes in the extracellular concentration of calcium and on the general issue of the role of calcium as an extracellular messenger in health and disease. He has published over 350 original articles, chapters, proceedings and other publications. Dr. Brown devotes 20% of his effort to research and development efforts within MariCal. Dr. Brown sits on the MariCal Board of Managers.

Dr. Brown has a B.A., summa cum laude from Harvard College and an M.D. cum laude in Biochemistry from Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Hebert is Chairman of the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology, Yale University School of Medicine, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Previously, he successfully led research efforts as a Professor at both Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

Dr. Hebert is an internationally recognized expert in cellular ion transport and kidney physiology. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Homer Smith Award for Basic Physiology Research of the American Society of Nephrology and the New York Heart Association and the Gottschalk Award for Kidney Physiology of the American Physiological Society. Dr. Hebert has published over 250 peer reviewed journal articles, and has been editor of several prestigious and internationally recognized scientific publications. He devotes 20% of his effort to MariCal's research and development activities.

Dr. Hebert holds a B.A. from Florida State University and an M.D. from the University of Florida and M.A. degrees from Harvard University (honorary) and Yale University (honorary).
