![]() Our process uses a precise and carefully designed combination of naturally occurring compounds added to both the feed and the water for a few weeks at the early stage of pre-adult salmon growth. These compounds are the common minerals already present in natural seawater - namely calcium, magnesium and sodium - and common amino acids such as those you can purchase over the counter in any supermarket or health food store. These carefully designed nutritional and environmental conditions stimulate calcium receptors (CaSRs) to activate the natural process of smoltification. At the end of the process, fish exposed to the SuperSmolt® process are completely prepared for seawater, even though they have remained in freshwater. The SuperSmolt® technology is protected by United States and international patents.
