By eliminating the growth penalty associated with a winter photoperiod you can:

• Produce smolt that are 25%-40% larger, depending on the length of the winter period (see the example above),
• Produce the same size smolt earlier,
• Increase S0 production by selecting smaller grades that would reach standard S0 size without the winter photoperiod.

Smolts exposed to the SuperSmolt^® process will outperform other S0s because they are fully adapted to seawater. They will begin vigorous feeding almost immediately and will begin to grow rapidly.
